There’s nothing wrong with twisting tradition ever so slightly. Soy candles are a cleaner, healthier alternative to those made with the standard paraffin wax. What is a soy candle? It’s made with vegetable wax derived from soybeans, a renewable material source grown throughout the U.S. Petroleum, the source of paraffin, is nonrenewable and often contains carcinogens. Soy wax is also proven to be burn slower and cooler, boasting a longer, cleaner (less soot and gunk!) burntime than traditional lights. We also recommend using a wick trimmer to cut the wick down to about a quarter of an inch before the first light and for each relight after to minimize soot build-up. Scatter candles throughout your home—from the entryway console to the living room mantel to the bathroom vanity—to create a warm welcoming environment of soft light and soothing scents.
