Stephane Fontaine's "Scriptura" presents a moody composition utilizing acrylics and pastels. Gestural black lines stand in crisp contrast to the layered underpainting, creating tension and a sense of movement. "One of my favorite ways of creating art is to just do, without a plan. I just layer paint and other materials," the artist explains. "Over the years, I've learned when it's time to stop and say 'It's finished.'" CB2 exclusive.
Stephane Fontaine is an Ontario-based artist who favors exploring different materials, mediums and subjects, never settling on a single style. "The only thing that matters to me is being completely and utterly in the present moment," he says. "This is the essence of creativity."
