"Port I" is part of a series based on images of waves. "I grew up near the ocean, and it has always held a special place in my heart," explains artist Amber Fey. "I created this set with the hope it would capture the feeling of being mesmerized by the rolling waves." Created from a photograph, Fey added strokes of black ink to give the piece a hand-painted feel. Reproduced here to emulate the artist's original techniques.
Amber Fey is a Montreal-based artist who uses photography and graphic design to "find elegance in the ordinary." She describes her work as having "many stylistic quirks, depicted with simple shapes and compositions."
