Inspired by the natural world, "Pastiche" features an architectural geometric design that leaves the interpretation up to the viewer. Using a combination of white acrylics, Ksenia Sizaya uses a palette knife to pull paint across the canvas, adding layers and hints of darker hues to create texture. Reproduced here to emulate the artist's original techniques. Hangs in two orientations.
Ksenia Sizaya is a Montreal-based artist who was trained in St. Petersburg, Russia, and completed her master's degree in graphic art. Sizaya says her art is influenced by abstract expressionism and modernism. "I've always been a creative person, even as a small child. Design and art have always been a major part of my life." The artist is inspired by city life imagery and the outdoors.
