"I've always been drawn to the fragile beauty of the butterfly," says artist and designer Matthew Williamson. "I love the precise symmetry and wonderful colors found within the wings." In "Metamorphosis I," the insect's vivid pink stripes are accented by tan and brown whorls, making a colorful statement from nature itself. Part of a trio of watercolor paintings of butterflies, the giclée print on premium paper is hand-set into its gilded frame in Chicago.
Matthew Williamson is an award-winning British interior designer known for his use of pattern and color. "All my work inspiration comes from nature," he says. "There are infinite possibilities and inspirations to draw from in the natural world."
