In "Key," gilded linear shapes and a single circle are mesmerizing against a black background. "I wanted to create something that was glamorous, yet felt Bauhaus," says artist Patrick St. Germain. For this midcentury-inspired work, layers of acrylic paint are applied to lightly textured canvas before receiving gold leaf embellishment.
Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
