Inspired by Japanese "mottainai" clothing, Patrick St. Germain created "Kato" as an ode to the Japanese art form of restitching scraps of worn textiles to save them from being discarded. The large-scale work is layered with a selection of indigo-dyed canvas pieces for an abstract rendering of the practice. CB2 exclusive.
Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
