"I think of memorable landscapes from my travels and strip them down to their most basic forms and textures," says artist Kim Knoll. Imbued with a sense of movement, "In the Flow" recalls the swirling waters of tide pools at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. "I remember feeling like the ocean was breathing all around me," Knoll recalls. Reproduced from her original work of India ink and water, this giclée print on premium paper is hand-framed in Chicago. Pine core frame has a contemporary double-foil finish in mottled dark silver with a pewter inset.
Kim Knoll, a Chicago artist, seeks calm and stillness through painting memories and moments from time spent in nature. "My style is an abstract interpretation of memorable sights from places I've been or the way something makes me feel," she says. Working with watercolors, ink, acrylic and graphite, she paints from memory, thinking of specific sights or feelings to inform and guide each concept.
