The empty space beneath the pot allows plenty of room for trailing, viney plants to grow their tendrils. Easy-care houseplants that will cascade from the basket include spider plants, ivy, philodendron and pothos (sometimes called Devil’s ivy). During the holiday season, plant a bouquet of poinsettias in a pair of coordinating pots and hang them on either side of the front door—inside the entryway, as poinsettias cannot withstand the winter chill.
