"Goddess of Ischia" captures artist Kristen Giorgi's memories of her travels to Ischia, a volcanic island off the coast of Naples. Giorgi uses layers of paint that bleed across a custom-designed linen canvas to create a figurative work that's both feminine and moody. The artist's original work is reproduced here as a giclée print.
Kristen Giorgi is an Atlanta-based artist embracing both her fashion background and veneration for 1960s color field stain-painters. The sense of form and color saturation results in figurative and abstract works that are "edgy and soft, exuberant and reflective—a mirror of my personal style and philosophy."
