Hand-glazed ceramic vase lends a sculptural presence with midcentury flair. To create the bold design, skilled artisans in Portugal apply wax circles to the matte black surface. As the wax melts in the kiln, a monochromatic dot pattern unique to each piece reveals itself. Finished with a high-gloss glaze, the tension between the two glazes makes a dramatic statement.
