Inspired by '70s interior design, "Carbon" is painted in a dark, earthy palette as a meditation in monochromatic tones. "I partially enjoyed the sophisticated use of textures with clean lines and simple shapes," explains the artist. A combination of black gesso, acrylic gel and acrylic paint on canvas create this contemplative abstract work. Reproduced here to emulate the artist's original techniques. Hangs in two orientations.
Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
