Using washes and drips of paint, Ruby builds layers to bring an ethereal quality to "Canyon." By applying paint and washing it off with a sponge, the artist creates depth without heaviness. "This painting went through a lot of changes—all leading to its final look. I thought of the title as I was making it. Canyon—as in the Grand Canyon," Ruby explains. Presented in an FSC®-certified wood frame finished in black oak. CB2 exclusive.

Ruby is a Montreal-based artist inspired by her surroundings and how she feels while painting. Informed by the styles of Russian avant-garde and abstract expressionism, Ruby works primarily in acrylics and collage as she plays with movement and balance in her compositions.
