QUARANTINE ROUTINE

First we asked Jennifer if she’s been able to establish any sort of routine during this time. “My mornings start in the kitchen,” she told us. “I am up early cooking for my family and posting recipes on my kitchen Instagram, @jenniferfisherkitchen. This has been a great outlet for me to continue to interact with our customers.”

It’s like going back to when I started the business almost 15 years ago and was doing it all by myself from my bedroom in my apartment.

Work continues for the entrepreneur, but at a slightly different pace. “In an effort to help keep everyone safe we have temporarily closed our retail store and office. That being said, our online retail store is still open and running. With the team at home and our fulfillment center still operational, I have been handling the everyday shipping, receiving and quality controlling of product,” Jennifer explains. “It’s sort of like going back to where I was when I started the business almost 15 years ago and was doing it all by myself from my bedroom in my apartment. It’s really making me appreciate how hard everyone works for us.”

COOKING AS THERAPY

Jennifer is the type of person who finds cooking relaxing—which is lucky, since it’s a big part of her life, especially now. “After a full day of shipping, I am back in the kitchen every evening,” she tells us. “I always tell people, ‘I don’t go to therapy, I cook,’ so these past few weeks have been no exception. I have been spending a lot of my time coming up with new recipes that use my three custom-blended cooking and finishing salts, Universal, Spicy and Curry. All of which are available on the CB2 site!”

Speaking of food, we asked Jennifer what she and her family have been snacking on lately. “Everything and anything,” she confesses. “I have been cooking a ton—preparing things that will last and will satiate everyone in the house.” Some favorites?

JENNIFER FISHER'S FAVORITE QUARANTINE RECIPES

All of Jennifer’s recipes can be found on her website, and she’s updating it frequently these days. Even if she’s not making a full dish, Jennifer likes to leave out snack trays or charcuterie for more casual family grazing. “Some evenings I’ve been using our Marble Serving Tray and leaving out a charcuterie board that we can all pick on while Kevin and I finish up work,” she explains. “I make sure to keep the house stocked with my board basics: Salami, a mix of crackers, Marcona almonds, fig spread or quince paste, green and black olives and assorted cheeses. Usually that includes brie, manchego, Jarlsberg and goat cheese. I love cheese, but during quarantine I have been grabbing whatever I can find.”

COCKTAILS, WFH ‘FITS AND OTHER NECESSITIES

You know what you need with snacks? Drinks. And just because you’re staying at home doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a nice cocktail or two. Jennifer’s favorite is a Spritz Veneziano (aka Aperol Spritz), which she makes with Prosecco instead of champagne, large square ice cubes, a slice of fresh orange and olives on the side. However, if you don’t want to play mixologist, Jennifer also loves The Companion Wine Company. “The Malvasia is my current favorite. The entire can fits into the Big Buzz Glass. While snacks, go-to quarantine recipes and cocktails are clearly very important essentials, we were wondering what else is on Jennifer’s stay-home must-haves list. “Comfortable sweats. The Perfect Pour Wine Glass. Jewelry Storage Tower—use your free time during quarantine to organize anything; doesn’t have to be jewelry. I find these storage units also work great for sunglasses or nightstand essentials,” she tells us.

Yes, the CFDA-award-winning jewelry designer is team sweats when it comes to her WFH ensembles. But that doesn’t mean she’s not making it chic. “I am alternating between my new Free City sweatsuit, Koral leggings, Baja East sweatshirts and my new favorite Lilybod leggings,” Jennifer says. But she uplevels it with Jennifer Fisher Jewelry, of course. “My non negotiables are my JF burnish cuffs and my New Essential Brass Necklaces.”
