Beautiful but smelly
We purchased the Koshi low dresser in preparation for our second baby. While I love the clean lines and solid wood construction (and think this piece is a steal for the price!), the inside of the dresser drawers were extremely smelly when it was delivered. Must be the varnish used? The outside, fortunately, did not smell, but we didn't want to put clothes inside for fear they would be off-gassed upon. I had to keep the dresser drawers open in an unused bedroom, open windows, and close the door so that the house wouldn't smell, too. Yuck! I'm just glad we didn't have to put baby clothes in there...

Very Poorly Constructed
These are beautiful pieces. However, as some others have pointed out, the drawers will often slide open of their own accord, sometimes all the way. After having removed the drawers from one unit to move it to another room, two of the drawers wouldn't fit back into their allotted spaces (simply got stuck and wouldn't go in any further), even after making sure they were in the same, correct slots. Shockingly poor construction from a company I've always trusted and who has furnished most of the rest of my home

Beautiful and bigger on the inside!
I love this chest, it has great design and looks expensive. At first I didn't like that the bottom drawer is double, but now I think it's the best thing about it. You can fit a lot of stuff in there, and it is virtually impossible to notice that the two bottom drawers aren't separate.

Beautiful, but with problems
The wood color and design of this piece is beautiful, and I wanted to love it. Unfortunately the second drawer doesn't stayed closed. It always slides back open on its own. Really disappointing after spending close to $700 on a piece of furniture that I expected to have around for a long time.

read the description carefully
I did not realize the bottom drawer is a double.
It is too deep --- which impacts its functionality. Still a nice looking piece that works overall.

Solid Peice
The Koshi Tall Chest is heavy and very well made. The only downside is that the drawers get stuck sometimes. Overall the peice creates a nice feel to a modern space.

koshi bedroom set
My wife and I bought the complete koshi bedroom set. I can say I'm very happy with our purchase. Nice stain color that is dark but you can still see the light grain. The piece feels solid all the way around. Drawer pulls are smooth. I really like the modern and simple look. The nightstand drawer height is a bit shallow, this was the only negative I had.

Nice dresser at decent price
Overall, I'm very pleased the the look and feel of the piece, but I'm a bit disappointed by the construction. For example, 2 of the drawers slightly malfunction: 1 is difficult to open and close, another is too easy. The easy drawer sometimes opens partially on its own (gravity?). Sometimes, I walk into my room to discover an open drawer on my dresser. I'm sure these problems are fixable, but I didn't expect them in a new piece of furniture. The drawers are also quite small. I can only stack about 4 folded shirts on top of each other.

better looking than functional
the dresser looks great in the room however the drawer configuration isn't great. The really deep drawer makes it awkward to get things out of the bottom without destroying attempts at organization, and upper drawers are so shallow shirts get stuck. The bottom drawer also just seems to slide out often, and does not sit well when fully pushed in. Also scratched very easily when my cat jumped on it.

Great Design; Disappointing Form
As with my other Koshi lineup reviews, this chest has relatively shallow drawers which cuts down on storage capability. In addition, the ammature'ish method of reinforcing the drawer's interior corners with space-hogging triangles eats up the already limited space. The Koshi line of furniture is heavy and substantial, however fit and finish is not as elegant or polished as hoped -- think Asian Rustic with slightly asymmetric slabs of wood fastened together. I get the impression that they were hand carved with measurements being loosely paid attention to (intentional?), but the pieces aren't wobbly (at least on carpet). Zoom in closely on the dresser and chest photos and you will notice the varying gap differences between the drawers. The bottom drawer is very deep (maybe too deep), however the middle of the asymmetrical drawer face sticks and rubs against the frame. Be careful about placing or dragging the chest or dresser on light-colored carpet as it had stained my beige carpets. Given the solid wood construction, and the competitive pricing, judge for yourself if these nits can be overlooked.

Looks Great
Looks great. Clean modern lines. The top three drawers are shallower than I expected but the dresser is well made, and the color is true to the picture.
