Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hide the mess! I keep a messy desk. In my small studio apartment, it is nice to be able to put work out of sight, out of mine. I love the slanted angle of the dest. I needed to add wood into my space and this was a cool, functional way to do it. I also go this desk as a floor sample, which saved me money and I did not have to assemble it. However, I would pay full price knowing how much I like it in my space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my desk! First of all, this desk is gorgeous! I love the color of the wood and the little storage compartment is useful. It took a little while for me to assemble it but it was almost single-handedly done by me (and I'm usually horrible at furniture building/not very strong, etc.), considering those factors it was very easy. I've had the desk now since Feb. 2013 and it is in almost perfect condition after heavy use! Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great desk! Got it yesterday, took a bit to put it together....but well worth it!...looks great and fits perfectly without taking up much space. The hardware isn't the best, so I put glue at all the joints and it is very solid!...Just what I was looking for, something stylish and functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In love with this desk! I fell in love with this simple yet quirky desk the moment I saw it in the store. It is perfect for my small studio apartment in SF. I was worried that it was going to be a little too small to fit all my stuff but it not only fit everything but I had room to spare without it looking cluttered. I am able to fit a MacBook Air, Mac Mini, 19" monitor, desktop speakers, mousepad & mouse, USB hub, wireless hub, CD/DVD external drive, pencil holder, as well as some other random items. Love that it has a small compartment level that hides my Mac Mini, hubs, external drives, and all the ugly wires. And also the small shelf within is pretty useful. I put my checkbook, money, and receipts there as it slightly hides these more sensitive things. It's quite sturdy. I place my heavy flatscreen monitor on the top and it's pretty stable. I usually leave the desktop flap open because I just keep my laptop there. It doesn't stick out much so it's no problem.I had to pick it up from the store using my car. The box is pretty heavy. The assembly took maybe 1-2 hours. Pretty standard. There was a small chip in the wood lacquer but I was just going to live with it because I didn't want to go through the hassle of packing this one up, and getting a new one shipped to me just to have to put it together again. But after reading the review below, maybe I'll just ask for that desktop flap part. The only thing besides the chip that bothers me about this beautiful little desk, is that some of the inner screws were at an awkward position and didn't really work well with the small L-shaped tool they provided. I couldn't tighten it so there's a very small gap in the corner of the top. You can only see it if you duck your head and try to look for it, so I decided not to care too much about this.I'm still giving this 5 stars because it's a great design and very charming. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great desk I bought this desk for my husband. He works from home and love the fact that it doesn't take too much space. We have it on our living room. We got it delivered to our home but unfortunately two parts arrived damaged. We called CB2 and they send out the replacement parts right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem solved! This little secretary is nice and compact and fits easily in the corner of our eat-in kitchen. I have a habit of leaving papers and bills to be paid within sight in the kitchen, which drives my husband crazy. This way, they are out of sight but quickly within reach. The perfect solution! As for composition, it seems sturdy - the UPS label said 68lbs. And the back panel is not just raw paperboard - it is finished with a veneer, so it could float in the room. While it is true that the assembly was a bit tedious, it was completely worth the time. We've had it about three weeks, and I'm still admiring the piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and practical! Just bought this desk yesterday and spent about an hour today setting it up. While the previous reviewers are correct about the tedious turning of awkwardly placed screws, it wasn't anything too dreadful, especially with the TV on in the background to distract me. It's great quality, sturdy and the perfect amount of space for a work table (as an artist) without taking up too much space in a small Brooklyn apartment. Only issue I had was the two holes on the right side of the door were a few centimeters off of where the arm landed. I had to create two new holes, no big deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the price, a great little desk for a small apartment. Agree with the other reviewers about the fact that access to the 8 bolts with an allen wrench is a bit tedious. Like one of the other reviewers, we received a couple damaged pieces--CB2 customer service was excellent and made it very easy to get replacement pieces. Very happy with it overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice compact secretary desk I had my handyman assemble the desk.. it took him an hour to put it together. He had a problem with the desk top...defective.... CB2 sent us a new desk which we just used the part we needed and sent everything back as CB2 suggested. Other than this issue, the desk went together well and it is fairly solid. It doesn't take up much space and it is handy and nice to look at. I like the desk a lot and would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great little desk It's a very sturdy and stylish desk. It's size is excellent for small spaces. I would have liked to see another color selection -- perhaps something in a warmer cherry tone or a lighter maple-like tone.Like the first reviewer, I also found it a bit tedious to assemble because of the difficult access for 8 of the bolts. If you have a ratchet style allen wrench, that would help a lot. Also, the front door is not labled as to which side is the top and it is not obvious from the photo. I initially installed it with the wrong side up and it is painful to correct the mistake. Be sure to use the side with the small holes as the top side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must be patient Now that it's assembled I like it a lot. That said, this experienced DIY-er had quite a time putting it together starting with piece #1 which was missing 2 of the 4 nylon inserts that you screw into. Fortunately it was last to go on desk and I was able to glue the dowels that hold it in place -- permanently. There are also bolts that are tightened down with a wrench. Access is very difficult making it a tedious process. Try inserting a phillips head driver into bolts and screw in, then do final tightening with wrench. Be careful not to strip bolt head. Finally the finish after two days is still gassing off. I recommend keeping window open till that dissipates. It's a very pronounced odor. Other than these minor conditions, the desk is gorgeous and a welcome addition to our home.
