Good product - sturdy
My biggest fear was that this bookshelf would be flimsy. It turned out to be quite sturdy. The shelves are wood veneer, not solid wood, but they look great and I expect them to hold up well.

Functional and stylish
I am completely in love with these shelves. We bought 4 of them to go in a very long front hallway and they look fantastic! Super easy to put together. It was packed really well too (which I have found is true of all CB2 stuff I've ordered).

Fantastic Purchase!!!!!!
I absotuely love it! It goes together easily and so well and makes my space so much better. Now I'm counting down to when I get to buy the second one!

Rad Shelf - Will not disappoint!
Pros: Quality Clean construction / Super sturdy and durable materials. White Oak veneer looks great and is easy to clean. Really easy to assemble and attach to wall.
Cons: Nothing bad to say about the product, just complaints about the shipping / packaging. This product was delivered in two separate shipments. The steel supports came first via Fed-Ex in a long box with enough Styrofoam to float a concrete bridge. Just when you get excited about putting it together, whoops, you've got to wait another week before the wood shelves arrive via UPS again with tons of Styrofoam. Felt bad about filling my apartment's dumpster with it from bottom to top. Seriously? we've got cell phones that we can watch HD TV on but we can't come up with more sustainable package solutions this day and age?
Bottom line: Really nice product, but CB2 shipping / packaging methods could use some serious improvement.

EBONY PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I love this shelf desk combo. I want to purchase but i NEED this in EBONY!!! I cant do anything with this oak color. i think you need to have the option btwn the two. This oak color is limiting and excludes myself and others who would like to buy and wont due to the color limitation. Please bring back the ebony asap!!!!TEAM EBONY!!!!!!

Perfect for tight spaces.
We bought the helix bookcase to compliment the helix desk and are so glad we did. The small footprint and smart design take up so little space but yet holds so much. We have loaded it down with books and accessories and it feels solid. Nice, quality design and very easy to assemble. Like all CB2 items we have ordered the shipping was fast, reliable and arrived damage-free. Very happy with this purchase.

Sturdy and Nice looking shelves
I purchased the shelves without seeing them and was a little concerned that they would not stand up to what I expected.
My husband and I put them up in our newly remodeled bedroom/office and they look absolutely beautiful.
I love that they don't take up alot of space, but you can put alot of books and accessories on them.
I did call customer service and wanted to know how high the last shelf was to the floor. I was concerned that the shelf would hit the outlet. The customer service representative did not know the height, but said someone would get back to me in an email. Soon after Theresa sent me an email telling me it was 12 inches from the floor. I appreciated the fast reply and that they followed through on the request. Great Customer Service!

The Best Ever Bookshelves
Was looking for a bookcase that would maintain the integrity of our new open loft space, and the Helix turned out to be the perfect solution. It allows for shelving many many books, records, artwork etc...while keeping with the open appearance that we love. We purchased 2 originally, then decided to get a third for another area of our space. They were super easy to assemble, and leveling them on the concrete floor was a breeze.

Great-looking shelves
We purchased three of these shelves for our dining room and love the way they look together. They were fairly easy to assemble and install. The only challenge we experience was trying to line all three shelves up evenly, and we had to do some soft kicking of the iron side rails to make adjustments. All in all, we are very satisfied with the quality and value for the price and love the modern, airy feel they add to our dining room. Highly recommended for style--we get compliments all the time.

Sleek and easy to put together book shelf
This is a beautiful book shelf for the price. It was easy to put together as well AND feels sturdy. The only thing, I have kids and we keep a canvas cube on the bottom with toys in it, after a year of pulling it down off the shelf the front veneer of the bottom shelf is starting to come off. But that is AFTER a year! Just a reminder it is veneer. I would totally buy this book shelf again.

Wall Mounted Desks + Shelves
I liked the look of these shelves when I saw them in the catalogue, and the concept of shelves + desk was an idea I'd been considering for a space problem in my condo.
My concerns were; quality of materials, complexity of assembly and installation and the 'real life' look in my home as well as practicality.
I must say, I'm delighted. While I don't love the core chip-board type material, it is very sturdy and the oak veneer is very nice. My husband and I put two desk units and a shelf unit together with no real problems, and once mounted, felt secure. As for practicality, I've been using the new space every day and love the way it looks.

Great Bookcase
This bookcase is everything I was hoping it would be. It has a great look to it- airy, modern, stylish. I also love how the metal sides are placed in the middle of the wood shelves because it acts as bookends! Anything else that looks this great is also way more costly.

This shelf works in any room and looks great combined with a few in a row to get the "built-in" look. Very sturdy and surprisingly easy to install.

Just as pictured
Clean, modern lines, easy to assemble, took 1 hour for 2 bookcases. Shelves are wide enough for art books and storage boxes, too. Would order again!

Simply Divine
I had a huge expensive solid wood entertainment center built in my living room and when it was done I realized I should have stuck with my gut feeling. I prompltly bought some helix shelves and replaced the bulky system in my midcentury home. Perfection at it's best! They add so much more depth and interest without over powering my room or treasures. They were so easy to assemble and install so I would highly recommend them. Aged but modern, perfect. =)

Great find!
I really fell in love with this bookcase when I saw it on the background of a YouTube video. I searched everywhere until I finally found it on cb2. Once it arrived it was very easy to set up and install. The bookcase was easy to combine with other accessories and other furniture since its made of two (contrasting) materials. I have to say it looks awesome on my living room. I'm really happy I found it!

Perfect for Exposed Brick
I bought three of these because I wanted shelving that would still allow my 100 year old brick walls to be on display. I LOVE them - they're minimal enough that the brick is still very much a feature, and they provide tons of shelf space. I'm even considering buying two more so they run all the way across the wall!

Love this bookshelf - need more in Ebony!
I installed this bookshelf in a smallish bedroom and it's great. Easy to install and holds a lot. I'd order several more for other rooms if they brought back the ebony and silver version.
