overview

color block. The Dupla Credenza was created exclusively for CB2 in partnership with husband-and-wife design duo Robert and Cortney Novogratz. Their Brasil Collection is inspired by their Brasilian home and travels—from the colors, culture and food to the amazing people they have seen and met along the way. "Brasil has always been at the forefront of cutting-edge design. This piece is inspired by the many great designers that have come from this country." Graphic and versatile, the Dupla Credenza does media, dining, any room storage. Clever sliding doors reverse from matte white and aqua to grey, depending on your mood…and your room. Doors open via polished steel hardware to reveal removable interior stainless steel shelf. Iron tube frame flanked by gleaming stainless steel corners adds industrial edge to clean matte white engineered wood and plywood cabinet. Back cord cutouts keep media setup neat. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great...if you ever get it put together This piece looks incredible. I love the color options with the sliding doors (and they're easy to change too). However, it was a nightmare to assemble. It smelled horrible, even after airing it out on the porch overnight. The pieces did not line up properly, and once I finally got the holes to line up, the threading on the screws was terrible. Definitely a two man job, and I recommend these two men get along and communicate very very well. For this price, the parts should be high quality and assembly should be much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional storage This cabinet rocks! The photos don't do the quality justice. It has a sturdy metal frame, which assembled easily. The laminate doors are solid and have felt on the tops and bottoms for easy sliding. They look better when displayed on the all gray sides, instead of how the website shows with one side turquoise and one side white. It was easy to assemble and very hefty once put together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Looking and Sturdy I would agree with the other reviewers - this piece is not easy to assemble. It's not complicated at all - it just seems that the manufacturing tolerances are not very precise so a lot of the parts don't align or are very cumbersome to manage. It is also in a large, very heavy box so moving it around is a chore. Pay someone else to do it if you can.Once assembled, though, it's a very good looking and sturdy cabinet. The reversible doors are a nice touch, giving you some options that the average piece doesn't have. Now that it's built we are very happy with it. It gets a lot of compliments... and that certainly negates all the frustration of getting into the house and assembled!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Added Storage / Cute The piece is really cute and gives a modern piece to add to an office (or really could be used for bedroom or dining room storage). Definitely need two people to put together; also note the material is a little delicate, so you're going to want to use it in a space that won't give it a lot of wear and tear. Overall we've been happy with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, functional piece My husband and I bought this piece about 9 months ago and absolutely love it. We bought the floor model, so we did not have to assemble it. We use it as a TV stand (although it is a bit taller than normal TV stands) and are able to put our cable box, record player, game console, and other items, so there's plenty of storage space. We've had no issues with its quality, in fact we have two kittens who love sleeping in it and playing on top of it, and there haven't been any problems with scratches or markings on the piece. We also like how it's versatile, and can be used in different rooms for different purposes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality evident after assembly I've had this unit about 5 months. The assembly was difficult and labored due to parts not meeting or joining easily. The joints don't match nicely so the piece looks cheap and shoddily designed. A small amount of water dripped onto the top white surface. I wiped it up 120 seconds later but a day later the white surface had cracked where the drip had been. I'm very sorry I purchased this unit and wish it could be repair or replaced entirely with something else. I cannot recommend this product even to someone with money to burn.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from blood was shed during assembly When I opened up the packaging, I was pleased to see a small number of parts, screws, and a single Allen wrench. This will be easy compared to other pieces of furniture that I've assembled, I thought. Well, not exactly... Even with the 2nd person helping me as recommended, we still had a few problems. First, in spite of assembling in on a thick carpet and being very careful, the top piece was damaged on a few corners - a little bit of white coating chipped off, and in one corner, the wood was squished a little. It's real wood, but it seems very soft. I ended up having to touch it up with white-out and white nail polish - not something I expected to do for a $500 piece of furniture.Second, some of the metal pieces through which screws would be placed were bent. Not severely, but enough so that we needed to use a hammer to bend them a little so they could slide in place. Manageable, but annoying. Finally, the steel shelf tormented me. It has a fine film on it to protect it. Great. But how about protecting people? As I tried to place it in the cabinet, it was difficult to line it up so that its "bumps" went into the little holes on the side rails. As I grasped the shelf to try and make it fit, both of my thumbs were sliced by the sharp edges of the shelf and started bleeding heavily. Two days later, I still have bandaids on my thumbs. I also was never able to get all 4 "bumps" into the holes - they just wouldn't align - so I rested the shelf on top of the rails instead. Now that it's done, it looks pretty nice. But I'm disappointed with the problems encountered during assembly. And this is coming from someone who's assembled a lot of furniture, including another CB2 piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very nice but hard to assemble I bought this buffet for my Dining Room and it is a very nice piece of furniture! It looks great in the room! My only complaint would be that it was extremely difficult for one person to put together. Some of the pieces did not line up and it took me a very long time to get it to work. You would think that if you pay $100 for delivery that CB2 would provide the service to put the piece of furniture together for you for that cost. I have purchased a table before from CB2 that they put together, so I did not understand why I had to spend over an hour trying to put this credenza together. In addition, because the middle shelf is stainless steel, when you walk past the buffet the glasses that I placed inside of it tend to make clinking noises against the shelf. Once I made it work though and put everything together, it looked beautiful and fits in nicely with my room.
