bento mini for cat
I stumbled across those, and got 2 bento minis for my cat (so this review is kind of strange), because she has a hard time figuring out if there's water or not in her previously owned chrome bowls. The bentos work great... haha, and look super expensive/modern. Especially for a cat.

Substantial, elegant, utilitarian platter/set
When this first arrived, I thought it was really huge (even though the accurate dimensions are listed online) and quite heavy, and then wondered if it would be of use to me or if I should return it since it was bigger than I expected. I bought this platter to serve sushi for 2 whenever we buy takeout for dinner, but I haven't used it for that purpose yet--it will certainly hold enough sushi to feed 2-3 very hungry people. In restrospect, the plato platter would be a more aesthetic platter for sushi, and I'll likely get it, too. Fortunately, as an impulse purchase I'd also bought four of the bento mini bowls. We used the set together for the first time this week and it was perfect for tapas for 2, not to mention completely elegant--it looks amazing on my dining room table. I can't wait to use the set for entertaining this spring, too. All-in-all, it's great value for the price, I'd recommend it to anyone for daily use or entertaining, and I would definitely buy this again.

savvy shopping
My husband who is a "Chopped" fan insisted on having a square collection. I searched local stores and toured various websites in search of quality and affordability in stoneware products. I found it at CB2, in the bento collection. The dishes are medium weight. The dish is sturdy, have not lost one do to after dinner sink pile up. I stacked the dishes in three's, the dishes stacked easily this way and look elegantly uniformed. The bento collection has brought out the chef in my husband! He said i can spend his money here anytime..lol

Simply Perfect!
I purchased these plates & bowls to go w/ a set I have I found on clearance from a big chain department store. Also, to not have to purchase paper plates any longer. These were the perfect alternative to a second, full priced, set of the square designed dishes I already had. The simple design looks sleek, modern, & expensize. Yet they were a better value than a full set of dishes that came w/ pieces I wouldnt use nor did I need. These dishes are "Simply Perfect!"

Great Dinnerware
I had been looking at this dinnerware for months before ordering it. I ordered them last month and am very pleased. They are very durable and good quality for the price. I love the uniqueness of the contemporary look. The shipping was also fast. I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.

Great Dishes
I love these dishes. My family always say, they feel like they are eating at a gourmet restaurant, because of the way I plate the food on these wonderful plates. I love them a lot. The only draw back to the plates are they are hard to stack on top of each other due to the uniqueness in shape, they are not all the same.

Great looking dishes with some drawbacks!
I was looking for some statement dishes to use in my dining room and I came across these which in addition to being great modern design, were a great price, as well. I have service for 12 and have purchased every element of the set. I'm really happy with them but just some thoughts for other people looking to purchase them...
First, bear in mind that they're not the easiest to clean if something gets stuck in the crease by the edge of the plate. Also, the bowls are not super soup friendly because it's tough to get the spoon into the corners. Also note that the finish of the dishes is not completely uniform - they're not all perfectly bright white, there's a tendency to vary slightly in color. Finally, as a lot of other people have said, they DO NOT STACK. They WILL stack if you rotate every other dish 90 degrees...plus, mine look extra cool like this since they're stored in open shelving.
All in all, great dishes, really attractive and a great price. I don't use them every day so the aesthetics were most important to me and I love that this set has app plates, salad and dinner, as well as different sizes of bowls and serving pieces. I love how everything coordinates but I can still throw my other white items on the table with it.

great dishes!
really sturdy. i accidentally bang them around all the time when washing/putting away, and no chips! i love that these are atypically square. fun to eat on! the only con is that they're hard to stack because each dish varies ever so slightly in size.

I have the small, bowls and I love them! They are very sturdy, good quality material and very fun and modern. I understand the stacking annoyance, which is why I only gave it a 4. But I know as a professional baker, the best pans to buy do not stack well because they are true to form and do not warp as it extends upward to accommodate for stacking. So I can at least understand why they don't stack properly, but can be a bit of a nuisance.

geometry dream but scratch & crack pron
I loved these pretty little plates- great price, very mod. However- I've noticed they are very scratch pron. Also they don't stack well- fine for me as I have the cabinet space. Additionally- I had one crack in the microwave.
I like- but would not choose these again.

Great Buy
I bought this set for myself and others as a holiday gift this year after I saw them in the catalog. The set is beautiful, sturdy, and versatile as you can use the tray or the serving dishes together or separately. The dishes were used by all four recipients over the holidays with good reviews. Very affordable as well!

Useful, but could have been much better designed
If you have plenty of ktichen cabinet space, these are great -- useful for myriad things. But if you're a NYer or otherwise space-challenged, you must wonder why these were not designed to stack. It would have been easy and so much more useful.

Attractive but not durable
These plates are very attractive and make food look stylish. Though others mention having issues putting them away or stacking them, this was not a problem for us. We were quite happy with them for a brief period of time. Unfortunately they do not hold up. I reheated food on one in the microwave and when I pulled it out it cracked in half. CB2 was kind and sent a replacement. We ladled hot food on it that night and I heard a popping noise as IT developed a crack. What good is a plate if you can't put hot food on it? While I'm not going to the trouble of returning them all, I do expect I will have to replace these dishes fairly soon.

Worth the Price
While I agree that these do not store easy, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them because of it. Find a creative way to store them. On end, maybe.
They do look great and are very solid. I've dropped the smaller bowl onto hardwood and it didn't even crack.
Great value too.

beautiful BUT don't stack or fit in dishwasher!
These are very beautiful plates and bowls BUT they do not stack or fit in my Viking standard dishwasher. The lip is pretty tall.

Looks GREAT But...
I had been searching for the "perfect plates" for a while before I came across the CB2 Bento series. They are absolutely stunning. They have a beautiful design and they are VERY reasonable as far as cost goes. However, I find them to be quite heavy. I was also disappointed at the fact that they don't stack very well, and since I'm in a small apartment, storage space is at a premium.
So if you're strong, and you have a ton of space in your house, buy these. They are BEAUTIFUL - you won't be disappointed. Otherwise you might think twice before making this purchase.
