Impressive Purchase
Everyone has been impressed with this table. The feel of the metal top is great, not actually cold at all. Also, the nail-head detailing is really impressive. The table is quite heavy and really sturdy.
Be sure you check the dimensions here, or you could be in for a surprise. The table works perfect for me and is a good looking, sturdy piece of furniture.

Great table!
Easy to put together and very sturdy. I saw in another review that someone said to protect the top with turtle wax, and I did it right away... So far no rings or scratches.

perfect size!
We bought this table to use as an island in our fairly small kitchen. It is the perfect size and works wonderfully...not to mention it looks fantastic! We have three very active kids and this table is very sturdy and holds up well to frequent bumps!

Need extra counter space?
We didn't have enough room to prep in our kitchen, so when we saw the stern table we had to have it! The distressed galvanized finish is really cool. Its the perfect counter height. We've enjoyed using it daily and it has held up really well. It also doubles as a breakfast bar for us and it is really handy to have.

stern counter table
Hey Now! This table is awesome. It completes our kitchen perfectly! This is the 3rd item I've purchased from CB2 and all have been amazingly packed and arrived in perfect condition. This table was delivered by a delivery service notorious for damaging things and it was no problem. The table comes in 3 pieces and took about 30 minutes to assemble with no problems. You really don't even need directions; it's that easy. It's extremely sturdy and won't go anywhere once you place it. The finish is awesome. I can't believe the reviewers complaining about having to use coasters. The care instructions suggest using them so I use them; no big deal. If you don't want to use coasters or protect the surface buy something else. Otherwise, you will enjoy it greatly!

Can't enjoy it out of fear of damaging the surface
I fell in love with this table in the store and then hesitated to buy it after studying the reviews which recommend using coasters/placemats to protect it. The sales associate recommended protecting it with turtle wax which I haven't gotten around to doing yet and am still a little concerned it might change the finish. So far the table has not become discolored, but I barely put anything hot/cold/wet directly on the table as I'm afraid to ruin it. The beauty of the exposed table itself is the attraction, so covering it with a tablecloth makes no sense. For the price, I feel I shouldn't have to worry about damaging the piece. Mine was fairly easy to assemble. Overall, it's lovely, but a pain to worry about wear and tear.

Great table
This table is great for both kitchen dining and as a food prep island.

Warning--surface buckled
I too had problems getting the screws tight enough to make the table steady, and hired a handyman to do it right---but after that had a 2 month love affair with this table. Until today. I hosted a lunch today and put a hot dish on the table (not smoking hot, a reheat of a casserole) and the surface buckled and formed a prominent crease along the entire width of the table. I hadn't been warned about that--but previous to this, hadn't had problems with staining or discoloration. Is the table usable? Yes, but it is definitely marred, and you can't put an object that requires a flat surface (i.e. wine glass, wine bottle, etc.) on the crease--the crease is high enough for something requiring a flat surface to tip over. I'm pretty bummed. I was hoping this was a sturdier piece--and would last longer than this. Looks like it won't--so $499 was a lot to pay for something that lasted 2 months in good condition.

Disappointed
For the price, I'm pretty disappointed. I wonder how long other reviewers have had the table before writing the review. I have several items from CB2, and this is the only one I haven't loved.
As other people have mentioned, the holes to attach the legs were all drilled in the wrong places, and then re-drilled in a second set of wrong places...there are several sets of bolts to put this together, but only half of them can be used in my table without defying physics.
The holes aren't such a big deal once you get the table together, and it's been sturdy enough to use as a kitchen island. However, regardless of being very careful with the tabletop, it still gets discolored extremely easily. What's the point of paying for the look of a metal table top if you have to keep it covered up ALL the time? I was using mine in a kitchen (that I barely use).
And there are levelers on the feet, but one of them broke immediately, and another lost its pad (and damaged my floor).

Beautiful!!
I love this table. It looks fantastic, just as I imagined. Fortunately, I had some handy friends over to put it together because one or two of the predrilled holes were in the wrong place, but they just drilled new holes where they were supposed to be. Otherwise, it would have been simple to put together. I am worried about marks, but I have had it for a month now, and so far no marks. I'm very careful to use placemats and coasters. Very pleased.

Great looking table, but beware!
We love the look and size of this table. But there's one serious drawback: You can't put anything on it without a tablecloth or placemat. The first night we used it, we put a plate on the table--a dry, room temperature plate. When we removed it after dinner, there was a circle from the bottom of the plate in the finish of the table. Yes, the description says to protect the surface you should use placemats or coasters, but the picture shows it without placemats or coasters. And who would think you couldn't put a plate from the cabinet on the table without ruining the finish? Very disappointing.

Love this table!
Perfect for the apartment that is small in size but big on style! This table has it all. Be certain to order 24 inch stools to match. CB2 has done it again!

Perfect
I purchased this as a dining room table for a corner in my living room. Even though this table is VERY heavy, I was able to put it together on my own, which was extremely easy. I am very impressed with the quality of the materials, and it is definitely worth the price. It's the perfect size for a small NYC apartment, and blends with with my mix of traditional and modern furniture. However, the steel top is very prone to stains and markings. I would definitely recommend using placemats and coasters at all times.

Great care description
I love the look of this table but I don't want to buy a table for which coasters are recommended. Thanks for including this information. This table is not for messy me. I will choose a table from the other great tables you offer.

Clean and Sleek
This is a great table. It is easy to clean and the perfect size for a smaller space. We love it.

Great table!
I bought this table to separate my kitchen from living room. It works great as a dining room table and kitchen island while I'm cooking. I especially like the height, it's not as high as the other counter tables. Highly recommend.

The perfect studio dining table
Understated but with a bit of an edge. I purchased this for my urban studio apartment. It is the perfect size. I could not be happier. It was very easy to assemble too.

Nice Looking Table. Some Things To Consider...
Really love the look of this table. Metal industrial top and gray washed sides make it super cool. We ordered and the top came damaged with a corner crunched in. No problems with exchanging through CB2. Based on another review I ordered the Phoenix Carbon Bar Stools. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that there are two heights. The bar height is TOO high. You can't fit your legs under the table. Had to reorder and eat the cost of shipping. Totally my fault, so not complaining. However, the counter height stools are a tad short. They work and we use them, but I can't help feeling like they could just be an inch or two higher. I have to admit, it is also a little tight with both stools on one side. Not terrible, but it's a little awkward to slide in close to the table. Also bought coasters based on another recommendation from someone who left a glass on the surface that left a ring. Really good advice! Final word from my husband's perspective as he's the one who put it together, he was disappointed in the craftsmanship of the legs for the price of the table. The holes were mis-drilled and then drilled again alongside the wrong ones... making an almost figure 8 hole. He is concerned that the legs will come loose over time. Overall - we do like the table and use it everyday.

Fabulous table for a small space
I live in a very tiny one bedroom flat in London and this table is absolutely perfect for my space. I use it as a dining table/bar table/computer table/work space/everything space. Friends have come to visit and have all complimented on how unique and functional it is as well. It's a little taller then your average table, more bar-height so you need to make sure you get the right chairs. It is also very heavy and a little tricky to get through doors for assembly but looks great and cleans easily and so far is holding up well with the daily wear and tear im putting on it. one of my best purchases.

They definitely nailed it!
I walked into cb2 on a whim one day. I went in and walked around and found myself enjoying my time looking at their great (and rather inexpensive) furniture. I was looking for a dining table that would fit in a 1 br. apt - and low and behold I found it! As soon as I saw it I sat down. It isn't huge so I started setting a mock table to make sure it would fit what I need it for. It easily fits a table setting for 4 with larger size plates. It is great! I ordered it right away in the store and it was delivered a week later... Super easy assembly and it looks perfect! I agree that the counter top is fragile with stains, but if you know that going in, you should be fine. It can even add to the metal distressed look. Everyone that has seen it comments on it. I sit at it for meals, to do work so I'm using it almost every day! And its a great price! I definitely would suggest this for anyone looking for a contemporary counter height table!
