A Devilish Halloween Tablescape

October 11, 2016

Bring stylish black magic to the table this season.

Planning this year’s fright fest in your own home? We scared up some of our favorite new products that’ll trick out your Halloween tablescape without burying you in debt. What’s great is that these black, white, and copper plates, glassware, and accessories set an elegantly-eerie scene for the night, but they’re also stylish enough to use anytime after the holiday. Add in some cool cocktails and sweet treats, and adults and kids alike will dig the set-up.

1. Invite spirits to the table again and again with punch.
Fill up a beverage dispenser (ours holds up to ten quarts) with a spellbinding drink that’s orange or purple-red. Then set out smokey grey martini glasses and amber double old-fashioned glasses that go with the Halloween color scheme in an elegant way. Also make a point to include cocktail picks (stored in a smokey tea light candle holder) so guests can stab cocktail accoutrements like lycee fruit, which looks eerily similar to eyeballs.

2. Levitate dessert on a pedestal.
As it is, a square chocolate cake topped with powdered sugar will lure guests to the table. But lift it up high on a sleek cake pedestal and they’ll have no choice but to stare at the cake until you cut it. The same goes for the punch, which we lifted up to eye level on a marble server.

3. Cover the table in creepy-crawly placemats.
Our charlottee placemat weaves a waxy black base for candles or plates. Stack up swirling belay dinner plates and salad plates—which match the black-and-white color palette—for guests to grab when hunger strikes.

4. Get ahold of hauntingly beautiful silverware.
A mirrored finish atop stainless steel makes our beta flatware the most mysterious utensils at the Halloween table.

5. Skulls always look sinister.
Here, a pair of them go head to head: a metalhead skull serves as a gleaming conversation piece while a skully bottle opener makes it easy to crack open a cold one.

6. Light the night with frightful candle holders.
Set the mood with the sansa hurricane, a black aluminum design pierced with cut outs that cast shadows on the wall. A smaller tea light candle holder works in tandem to add an ominous amber glow.

This black serving bowl with cutting-edge style is perfectly sized for snacks like chips, crackers, or popcorn.

Tall, dark and handsome, this statuesque candlestick holder stretches almost 27 inches to the sky to hold a single spooky flame.

Stained extra dark for emphasis, this longboard server brings drama to the table every time it’s used.

An iron black pyramid adds sharp style wherever it’s placed (table, shelf, bathroom, you name it).

Here’s a magic trick that makes clever use of a mirror: lay it down as a centerpiece and fill the reflective surface with flickering candles.

Put a hex on the night with this hexagon-shaped black marble board that serves cheese, fruit, sushi, charcuterie—and supports dishes hot from the oven..
