Great bed
My husband & I shopped around a lot to find a nice king-size bed to upgrade to from our old queen. We primarily needed it to have a low headboard to be able to clear our window, which led us to the sad realization that no such bed exists, until we found the Alpine bed here. The headboard is the PERFECT height and doesn't block our window at all and we love that it has a nice deep ledge to put things on. We are still looking for nightstands but with this headboard, we're considering to not even bother with nightstands anymore. We also love the fact that it's all metal construction (except for the wood slats & the plastic ends for the slats, which is understandable since that's the one area that needs more give) and less likely to creek over time like a wood bed that contracts & expands with the temperature/humidity. The bed comes in 2 packages: one for the footboard+slats & another for the headboard+sides. The delivery guys were great. Quick & courteous.
We bought a 14" memory foam mattress for this bed, mainly because memory foam was the only way we'd get a king mattress up our low-clearance stairs, but chose that thickness because we saw in the product pictures & other reviews warning of the gap that can occur between the headboard & mattress if it's not thick enough. At 14", the mattress is 1" *above* the bottom edge of the sloped part of the headboard. One small issue is that the bed is a touch on the long side so if we push the mattress right up to the sloped part, then we would have about 3" of the foot of our bed sticking out. So we positioned the mattress somewhere inbetween so that the foot of our bed isn't sticking out so much, but it results in a ~2" gap horizontally between the mattress and the headboard, which isn't noticeable when you have pillows on. You can only see the gap if you're kneeling by the headboard and looking right at it.
Some reviewers complained about the bed being packed with an "excessive" amount of styrofoam, which I suppose 4-bags worth is a lot, but considering the size of the bed and the seemingly limited options in packaging this bed to ensure no damage to it, I'd say it's about the amount I'd expect. Just be sure to break up the styrofoam inside a garbage bag to get more of it into the bag (beware of styrofoam bits that fly off the large pieces when breaking).

Very Nice Bed Frame
I really like this bid frame. It appears well made (so far), and it looks nice in the space. The built-in ledge is a real plus since it eliminates the need for a nightstand. Plus, I have found the completed bed (with mattress and linens I already owned) very comfortable. Assembly was fairly easy, though it took somewhat longer than I had anticipated. And, the hardware package was missing two 10 cent washers that I opted to purchase at the local hardware store rather than wait for all the customer service stuff and more shipping time for replacements. And there is a gap between the top of mattress and headboard, but pillows can fill it in. Lastly, I wonder if the price is a touch too high.

Cool modern bed at a good price
I am very happy with my purchase of the Alpine Gunmetal Bed. It's attractive, sturdy and the shelf/headboard design is functional. My bedroom looks light years more modern with this bed, and the price is less than almost any other products I've seen that can match the quality.

Perfect bed for us!
I purchased the King Alpine Gunmetal bed. You can't beat the quality for the price! The bed has quality slats, is fairly easy to assemble, and looks great. I was thrilled that it actually has 7 legs (the product info seems to only include details for the queen bed). We purchased a latex mattress (11.5 inches high) to pair with this bed, and as others have mentioned there is a gap between the headboard and mattress that allows your pillows to fall thru. With the 11.5 in high mattress, I would say the gap is at most 6 inches deep. The headboard would be perfect for sitting up in bed if it weren't for this gap, but this can be solved with lots of pillows. Also, the slat holders are barely visible around the edges of the mattress, but this doesn't bother me (easily remedied if you tuck in your sheets and blankets). This bed is very reasonably priced for such great quality! I think this will last forever! Definitely recommend. Be aware that it does come with tons of styrofoam; we keep putting as much as possible each week into recycling and trash, and we still have lots more to go weeks later.

i love this bed. looks awesome and the headboard is actually functional, taking place of a nightstand...big enough for art, books, glass of water, misc items. only downside is that while my mattress was deep enough, it wasnt long enough...leaves a couple inches at the end but ive learned to ignore it.
also, pretty sure i saw this bed on one tree hill...makes me feel that much cooler for having it haha.

Great Bed!
I bought the Alpine Gunmetal Bed and love it! It was well packaged, easy to put together, and the quality is perfect. It's just the right style for my 17 year old. It will last him throughout his college years and beyond.

Dream Catcher!
I was looking for the perfect headboard to use in my "new-to-me" mid-century home master bedroom. I had my eye on this bed for quite some time and after months of searches online and in stores, I chose to purchase this and couldn't be happier.
This bed is very easy to put together (with a little help from a friend). It really ties a room together and pairs well with ever-changing decor and accessories. A dream come true? I'd say: YES.

Great bed, clean lines
I was moving from a 1BR condo to a 3BR house, so I wanted a new bed frame to go with my new mattress. I knew I wanted a platform bed with a lower profile, and this bed fit the bill. The shelf is great -- so great that I haven't even bothered to buy a beside table yet! Can't speak to ease of assembly as I had my movers take care of that. Oh, and the delivery was great as well.

Measure your mattress first....
The design is beautiful, super modern, super low and the metal looks amazing.
The only problem is the length of the bed, is too long. The king alpine bed is 6 inches larger than the king mattress that we have, so we had to put some foam to fill the gap between the mattress and the headboard.
So if you are planning to keep your mattress be sure to measure it before you buy this bed.
Also you need a deep mattress (fortunately ours is).
Otherwise - really cool bed!

Love Love Love this bed!
Recently purchased this bed because I was looking for something contemporary, clean-lined, but affordable. I have never purchased anything from CB2 before, so was a little nervous, but all of the reviews were great so I proceeded. My husband actually put the bed together by himself in a matter of a couple of hours. The first thing he said to me was, "Whoever wrote those directions did a really good job." He didn't even complain about putting to gether and for a guy with not one whit of patience, that is saying a LOT. :o) It looks fantastic in a small space and I absolutely LOVE it!

Love it!
Purchased online and received within 10 days. Bed is beautiful and was fairly easy to put together. Some people say 1 person could do it but I would definitely suggest 2, otherwise it could be an interesting balancing act. Very easy instructions. Looks beautiful and the headboard is at the perfect angle to prop yourself up to either watch a movie or read a book. It is a great modern low profile bed.

Great Purchase!
I recently purchased this bed and I absolutely love it! I was able to put it together myself (although having 2 people would have made it much easier). There was quite a bit of styrafoam, but based on the other reviews I was prepared for that. I was a little worried about how supportive the bed would be and considered using a Bunky Board from CB, but I've found that I don't need it - the bed is supportive enough!

Modern, Chic, Affordable
I was looking for a deal when I selected this bed, and it is everything I wanted it to be. The headboard is comfortable to lean against to read in bed, the shelf is usable for lamps, phones, books, etc. The bed is sturdy, easy to put together (if you read the instructions), and the feet have plastic bits to prevent scratching the floor. The gunmetal is a very very dark grey, almost black. It came in two boxes, both long, and one rather heavy. The freight shipping is entirely necessary.

Lovely Solid Bed
I bought this to replace a cheaper wood platform bed frame that became too shaky over time. I like a bed where one of us can roll over and not wake up the other. This bed is just that. It looks fantastic and it's solid, solid, solid. I was able to haul the pieces upstairs and put it together myself. The only challenge was attaching the headboard but with some balancing, it was fine. I did feel the wood slats that were provided were a bit thin so I did not install them. I instead used the thicker wood slats from my old bed.

Awesome
Pros:
Amazing looking, you have space to put things on the headboard (really useful for small places), easy to assemble and disassemble if you're moving.
Cons:
Being all metal can be a little noisy if you while putting things on top.

Awesome bed
I purchased this bed about 3 years ago and absolutely love it. It is very solid and well made. I have had it in both a loft space and a more contemporary space and it has looked great in both.
