Great in small space
This shelf/desk really solved the problems of needing storage and desk space in my apartment. Combined with the bookcase, it really makes a small or large wall space look great. I also installed them on my own (other reviews suggested you'd need 2 people)

Function and Form
The Helix wall mounted desk is a great space-saving desk, good for a secondary (small) workspace or what we use it for... a spot where we can finally set up our turntable and showcase some albums.
We have one desk and a couple of the Helix shelves, and LOVE them. We get so many compliments on them. I think they definitely look more expensive than they were. I think they're a great fit for just about any space. Highly recommend!

Excellent Quality
Love this product. I didn't use it as desk. I used it as for decoration shelves in our family room. We put plants, cooking books, music, etc. It fit and worked perfect!

Think Vertical
We converted a small second bedroom into a den / mini man cave and this wall desk was the perfect piece. The vertical piece is an efficient use of a small space. We have books on the top two shelves and the desk is enough space to do work and use the laptop. It fit perfectly in the limited space next to our Julius sleeper sofa! Really easy to assemble and mount - of course, it's best to mount into at least one stud.

To Study? or Drink?
I bought this desk when it was available in black and chrome so I can only comment on the functionality and usefulness of the product but not the color.
When I purchased this desk in black I intended to turn it into a bar because I no longer needed a study space, but I always need a place to store and serve liqour!
The upper shelves are wide enough to support an undermount wine glass holder (appx 3 glasses per rung). I would imagine the could support wine bottle racks as well.
The lowest shelf (table-top) I placed a chrome tray with glass decanters, shot glasses and specialty drinking glasses as well as a small lamp.
As a whole the piece looks great, and holds up well. I only have two minor irritances with the piece. One was getting it perfectly level when installing it to the wall was a little difficult (if you're installing it alone). Two, if you place any weight on the table-top it has a tendency to creak because the support bar is closer to the wall and therefore the weight of an arm resting on it, for example, isn't evenly distributed.
Overall, it is a beautifully simple piece that has more functions than simply a place to study.
I love it and have never regretted buying it.
