Bold planes of color landscape a bright path, created in collaboration with our friends at San Francisco's Creativity Explored, a nonprofit visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit and sell art (learn more at creativityexplored.org). Creativity Explored artist Hung Kei Shiu maps a topographic view of dimensional color, layering hatched line segments over solid and heathered pools of tonal blue, orange, green, yellow, brown and fuschia, handtufted in plush New Zealand/European wool. With his natural ability to layer paint, Shiu builds fields of color in and around definitive marks until the finished artwork echoes with a deep sense of space.
