overview

drawing room. Both simple and intricate, this illustration is an exercise of discipline to freely submit to the artistic process. In one sitting, artist Steve Juras sketched a graphite grid on paper and filled it with 416 unique shapes, each drawn in one stream-of-consciousness stroke of his pen. This practice taught him to silence the critical voice that threatens to stifle creative work, observing, "You simply move from one drawing to another without fixating on whether it looks right or wrong, good or bad, a success or failure. It just is."

steve juras. Chicago-based artist Steve Juras creates artwork that he calls process-driven abstraction. His chosen media are determined by the visual questions he's exploring within a given project. Most recently, acrylic, canvas, sandpaper, licorice and chewing gum have expressed his intent. Holding a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Juras has shown his work throughout the city and has also curated exhibitions for Columbia College and Chicago's Artists Month.

CB2 Edition LMTD: CB2 Edition LMTD original works are offered one time only in a small reserve. This special CB2 Edition LMTD print has a limited-edition release of 80.
