beautiful but too large
I gave the complete set of these cheese cutters as a gift, but if they'd been for myself or if I'd been able to open them before gifting I probably would have returned them. While beautiful to look at and hold I found them much to large and ungainly for practical use. In my opinion, they'd be appropriate only for serving cheese off the wheel, which is not something I do often enough in entertaining to make them a worthwhile purchase. A shame -- I would adore them and get more for myself at a smaller scale!

heavy, interesting...
i like this knife. it is an interesting piece, heavy and better when used on a board as opposed to a plate. follow directions when washing as it will rust easily.

Looks GREAT!
Great looking piece. Love the weight and love the design. For entertaining makes for an eye catching peice and conversation. Received many compliments and guests loved.

Fun & Unique!
Purchased the Ernie & Bert for myself and for gifts for the holidays. They were both a big hit. Everyone commented on how different and unique they were, received lots of compliments.

looks much better than it functions
I love (love love) the looks of these cheese knives and they pop on my slate cheeseboard. The design is modern and vintage at the same time...if only they worked as well as they look. They are far too dull and clunky to cut thinner slices of cheese and really are only good at taking chunks out. I've gotten around this by providing a real cheese knife next to the cheeseboard. If you can deal with these as decorative (and not functional) tools, they really do look fantastic.

Great looking sculptural and functional piece
I bought Bert and Ernie a year ago, and we love them. Nice modern addition to our traditional dinnerware and overall eclectic kitchen. Also, works great!

Style on the cheap
It's an item like this that brings style to serving at a party at minimal cost. This cheese cutter, and it's sister, look so good when platted - really elegant and modern, while maintaining a unique quality. My only regret is that I wasn't told how to care for them in the store - and they did rust after cleaning in the sink (I guess I didn't dry them off properly). I'm sure that they store will exchange them though - planning to take them back, get a new set, and give them the proper care they need.

gave as gift
I gave these as a gift to my brother-in-law. He really seemed to like them and think they were stylish (and he doesn't have to know I didn't spend a fortune). Will let him know about how to care for them since other reviews show it takes some attention.

bert rectangular cheese cutter
really liked the style and guests liked also--but as with the ernie chz cutter, these both discolor and rust extremely easy--you can clean off with brillo pad but why should we have too? clean with soapy water and dry off imediatley to avoid rusting

Really disappointed
Online I liked the look -sleek, simple. BUT, it turned out to be heavy, crude, rough-edged, and already discolored when opened.
Would have returned it but decided wasn't worth the trouble. Maybe I'll use it someday

I love the look of this cheese cutter
I love look of this cheese cutter but it more or let chucks the cheese not cut the cheese. But I do look the look of the cutter.

Returned it. Great design, but heavy and crude.
Can't be washed with soap. Disappointing.

I really like this for cutting hard cheeses like parmesean. User friendly at a party. Industrial look AND very cool.
