The elf lacks a base for the candle: with a little bad luck the candle will stain your table or cloth.

such a cute candleholder
Ordered 4, 2 for me, one for my daughter and one for a friend. We all loved the little guys, they are heavy and look way more expensive...Love that can be seen from any side, interesting and different. Wish I had ordered more for each of us :)...

As advertised
I bought six of these elves (2 each of green, blue, and silver). They are exactly as advertised - heavy, durable metal, bright colors, and three dimensional. I think they are cute (my fiancee thinks they are creepy, but admitted they looked a lot better when I lit the tapers). Be sure to use slow burning tapers with these elves. Because the makes part of the taper unusable, if you use cheap tapers they will burn down to the level of the elf very quickly. The reason I rated them 4 of 5 stars is that (as you can see in the picture) if you want to pick up the elf and the taper, you need to hold onto both since there is not a solid bottom to the elf that will hold the taper in. All in all, there were no unpleasant surprises with these, and at the sale price, if CB2 comes out with more of them, I'll be ordering them.

Great for two-sided display
I ordered two silver to go with two black elves I had from previous years. They look great on a half wall between kitchen and family room because each side looks different. CB2 should bring back the BLACK elf, though -- that should always be available.

Elffy
I liked very much but I did not know that it was a one sided half sided elf. I could not see that on-line probably would have loved them (I ordered the blue, green and silver) however a definite for any and different way to show off standard tapers.

Happy Elves in Big Boots!
I just received the silver elves to add to my CB2 collection. My first were black which after I received mine, I ordered more for gifts. Then came Red which was a perfect pairing and now the Silvers complete the scene. They are hefty little guys who grace my home in different places all year long. They are even fun without a candle. I passed on the blue & green this year, but I'm sure they are cute too, if you like those colors. Thanks CB2!
