The CB2 family is honored to partner on a national level with three causes that align with our hearts and minds—hunger, diversity and creativity through the arts. We invite you to learn more about our involvement with Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to help end childhood hunger; with GLSEN and Characters Unite to help promote LGBT diversity and end discrimination through education; and with Creativity Explored to support artists of all abilities.

In November 2012, the CB2 500,000 Meal Drive engaged our customers in an awareness-building campaign during the Thanksgiving season to help end childhood hunger. For every tweet, like, pin, email sign-up, website visit, product review or purchase, CB2 donated 10 cents to Share Our Strength up to a maximum of $50,000. Through Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, 10 cents can provide a child facing hunger access to one meal. Thanks to our customers’ enthusiastic support, we reached our goal of providing 500,000 meals in just two weeks after launching the event. Stay tuned here for the announcement of our next event.

The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority. We’re ending childhood hunger by connecting kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals. This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities.

In addition to CB2 store events and parties honoring Pride Month throughout June 2013, CB2 will be partnering with GLSEN—The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network—whose mission is to strive to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/ expression. As part of our special “Room For All” campaign during Pride Month, we will offer a CB2 Edition Limited release of 100 exclusive Out and About Messenger Bags featuring sustainable materials and a rainbow emblem. CB2 will donate $30 of the purchase price of each bag to GLSEN from June 1-30.

During Pride Month, CB2 will also spread the word that there is “Room For All” by sponsoring 20 television commercials in the Characters Unite “I Won’t Stand For…” campaign. USA Network’s award-winning public service program was created to address the social injustices and cultural divides still prevalent in our society. Our participation in this programming supports the “I Won’t Stand For…” movement’s mission to send a message to the world that no one should stand idly by in the face of racism, bullying, religious intolerance, sexism, homophobia, ableism or any other form of discrimination.

For the past four years, CB2 has been honored to partner on signed, limited-edition projects with our friends at San Francisco’s Creativity Explored—a nonprofit visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit and sell art. Their supportive studio environment provides individualized instruction by mentoring artists, quality art materials and professional opportunities to earn income from the sale of their work. In our exclusive collaboration since 2009, CB2 has featured the work of more than 30 artists in 40 limited-edition releases of signed prints, rugs, pillows, dinnerware and holiday ornaments. Each time we visit the studios of Creativity Explored, we are inspired by their vision, their nurturing community and the special relationship we share.
